I receive a monthly newsletter on early literacy from the Kent District Library, and this month’s has tips on easy crafts to teach literacy skills. One suggestion is to make a book with your child’s name on the front, and have a different page for each letter in his/her name. Then he/she can cut out pictures of items that begin with the specific letter. I may try this with my preschoolers. The site also has a page for future releases of book, movie, music and game titles which is neat, too.
