Jack has inherited the family business: Schmidt’s, a restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It claims most of his life, between working and running it. Even when he’s off, his mind is engaged with solving problems that crop up regarding work. He’s fifty-three, but looks a lot older. When he has a great offer to buy the business, he must make a decision — sell it or keep it? His employees are like family, but the new owner promises to keep them on. What will the outcome be? This was a tear-jerker, I have to say, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were very well developed, and each chapter begins with an inviting description of the area, which makes me want to visit!
