Summer House With Swimming Pool Koch, Herman/ Garrett, Sam (TRN) 1 of 1

This was a strange book with despicable characters that kept me reading. The main characters are a doctor (Mark Schlosser), his wife Caroline and two daughters.  Schlosser is a physician (this takes place in Holland) who is repulsed by the human bodies he deals with every day. He diagnoses in 5 minutes but keeps patients talking for 20. (He thinks they think he is really interested in their symptoms. He may be right.) One of his patients is a well known actor who invites the family to a summer rental. All goes swimmingly on well on the surface  until the oldest daughter is raped at a beach outing. The rest of the plot revolves around who could have done it and wrong conclusions are drawn, of course, and a revenge murder results. To sum it up, these are people behaving very badly.
