By Jo Baker, Longbourn is the story of the servants of Pride and Prejudice. Their lives are different but only in that they must perform the very unrewarding hard work that keep the Bennets upstairs. The servants have their own world when they find time in their 18 hour days. Everything is just at a lower level, their hopes, dreams, desires aren’t grand but still worth the effort. I do hope their chilblains heal.
