I like to check out books that are songs made into picture books. It is a great way to teach children the rhythm of language and, of course, old folk songs (and some  not so old).  Over the years I have gotten these: “The Star Spangled Banner,” “The Train they Call the City of New Orleans,” “Sunshine on My Shoulder,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “She’ll be Comin’ Round the Mountain,” “Baby Beluga,”The Lady with the Alligator Purse,” “Do Your Ears Hang Low?” “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” The latest one my daughter likes is a book of the song “Monster Mash.” And don’t forget the Woody Guthrie “This Land is Your Land.”
