Mr. Roth announced his retirement from writing fiction in 2012. But he’s still gathering awards – Yaddo Artist Medal and an honorary doctorate from the Jewish Theological Seminary. And he will be the solo guest on a special edition of the Stephen Colbert report. Colbert has tried highlighting several writers in the past, of the past (they were all dead – Fitzgerald, Hemingway and Salinger) with the guests being people who knew them well. But with Roth live it should be interesting. No date set yet – sometime in June.
