When in 2009, Meg Cabot published her 10th volume in her “Princess Diaries” series, she announced that she was going to give her princess, Mia Thermopolis, an indefinite break.  The series was a great hit with young adults and sold around five million copies.  Mia was then 18 years of age and heading off to Sarah Lawrence College.  Cabot did, however, hint that she might write about Princess Mia again.

Recently, the Wall Street Journal reported that Cabot plans to publish two new books about the princess in 2015.  Number 11 in the series will be “Royal Wedding,” which will be published by William Morrow,  as an adult novel.  This is to be followed by “From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess,” a new middle grade series.  In this new series readers will meet Mia’s long-lost bi-racial half sister, Olivia Grace. This new series will feature illustrations by Ms. Cabot and is to be published by Macmillan.
