There are many children’s publishers who offer customers the ability to customize digital children’s books by adding a child’s name or picture to the front of a favorite book. Sourcebooks, a Naperville, Ill. midsize publisher, has added a new twist to this feature. It is introducing a new app, “Put Me in the Story” that goes behind just a name or picture.
This feature will make it possible for the purchaser to take a Sourcebook title and basically add a child as a character throughout the text. A spokesperson for this publisher stated that their authors are excited about “another platform for their books.”
The app is free but comes with only one digital book to let customers experiment with this format. Two other books will be immediately available for purchase through the app at $4.95. Additional e-books will be available on a monthly basis. A printed version of the book will also be available for $29.99.
