Just read in this weeks Book Review we are halfway through NaNoWriMo. Who knew? Aspiring writers sign up and try to produce 50,000 words during November. 277,000 were signed up by the 1st. The number is now 302,942. Participants keep in touch with advice (just keep writing, pep talks, etc.) and support each other through Twitter and Facebook. Erin Morgenstern (The Night Circus) started her novel as part of this exercise. The bad news is “the program is funded in large part by merchandise sales and donations made by our very own participants.” And some “sponsors” but I wasn’t able to learn who they were except for Kobo which is a self publishing company!
