I’m enjoying this book by Karen Fowler but at about one quarter of the way through, I’ve read something so surprising I need to reread it to see if I’ve read it right. So far it’s the story of the Cooke family, father (college professor), mother, brother and sister. It begins with Rosemary in college starting to tell the story of her life. Fowler can be very funny, but I have a feeling this will turn out to be a family tell with some serious repercussions.
Also just started Nick Offerman’s Paddle your own canoe and he is very full of himself (as are all biographies) but his personal leanings are pretty much in line with mine so I’m cutting him some slack. Uses too many curse words to make his points – not necessary. I can totally envision his Indiana home town and family.
