Lillian gave a great synopsis of Greg Iles’s book (which I also really enjoyed). I just wanted to add that it brought back a lot of memories. I know my friends and I talked about the freedom riders, some of them debating whether or not to get on a bus. It was one of the first times I remember thinking seriously about civil rights – perhaps the first time I realized how sheltered from these issues I had been.
