Charlie is going to preschool, and she and Jamie are planning a wedding. She continues to fight with her niece Cat. More importantly, Dr. Dalhousie continues to struggle with the ethics of every situation. While trying to help out a fellow philosopher, she again is faced with a moral dilemma. Has she done the wrong thing for the right reason? Can a lie ever be acceptable? This highly readable series, does McCall Smith every sleep, strikes the right cord. Interesting characters, a simple plot with moral overtones, and great walking tours of Edinburgh.
