When J.K. Rowling wrote her last book in the Harry Potter series, she stated that she will not write another installment.  Fans, of course, are extremely disappointed.  But recently, Rowling posted a story on her Pottermore website that updated the lives of the main characters post Hogwarts.

Writing as Rita Skeeter a columnist for “The Daily Prophet” she reports on what has happened to Potter, Ron, and Hermione and their children.  Harry is now 34 and heads the Auror Department, an elite force that investigates crimes related to the Dark Arts.   Ron co-manages a wizard joke shop, and Hermione continues to rise in the ranks at the Ministry of Magic.  Writing as the gossipy Rita Skeeter, Rowling dishes some dirt about problems in Harry’s marriage and whether he really should have married Hermione.

Done with good humor, Rowling has given her Potter fans some juicy gossip to think about.
