With the renovations about to begin, I was thinking about how the outside area will change. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a children’s garden that is created and developed by the children of Palisades? Of course, this would need ongoing adult supervision. My daughter has attended gardening classes at NYBG and the children enjoy learning about plants, flowers, and how to care and grow them. The instructor also reads appropriate related books during each class. With the changes expected to last through the summer, I don’t know if it would be possible this year or even if there is enough room to fit in a small plot. Perhaps crazy thinking on my part with our limited space.
