This YA novel was written by a Sullivan county author whose mom was a children’s librarian in Chester, I believe. It was published in 2003 and relates the story of Troy, an overweight suicidal teenager who becomes friends with a punk rocker who enlists Troy to be the drummer in his band. Except that he’s not very good at playing the drums. I haven’t read the book yet, but there is a movie coming out based on the novel. I watched the trailer and it looks like it will be a good movie.
