Today is Edward Hopper’s birthday. He was born in Nyack on July 22, 1882, and died there on May 15, 1967. A new children’s book on Hopper by Robert Burleigh entitled “Edward Hopper Paints His World” was published in May. It received good reviews and is a juvenile biography selection from Junior Library Guild this fall. The video listed above gives a good preview of the artwork in Burleigh’s book.
