This is a book of short stories that sometimes read like novellas. I enjoyed 3 of the 4 stories a lot. One describing Marla, an overweight, single office worker who finds love and then wonders if it’s worth surrendering her independance after all. Another story, “The Bartender,” is a young man, bartender, who ends up with a woman, she gets pregnant, but he still has an affair with one of the waitresses. Another story describes the dissolution of a 25 year marriage and the husband who wants his wife back and cannot accept that her affair may be true love. Had a hard time getting into the 4th story, ‘Dirty Love,’ but may go back to it later. I recommend the other three.
