Red–Retired–Extremely Dangerous–is a mindless comedy/shoot-’em-up movie. If you are looking for something that doesn’t tax the brain and has its humorous moments, you might try “Red 2.” I suggest that you see “Red 1” which introduces the characters and sets up the premise of both of these movies.
The Reds are retired CIA agents who have committed their fair share of murder and mayhem. This may not sound like comedic material but in the hands of the good cast there are some very funny moments. Bruce Willis, Dame Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, and Mary-Louise Parker are perfect partners in crime. Anthony Hopkins plays a demented villain. If you don’t expect to much, you will be entertained.
