I thought I was not going to like this DVD. It begins with the main character Ron (McConaughey) portraying a real bad boy, rodeoing, wild sex, drugs and foul language. He is diagnosed with H.I.V. and it turns his world upside-down. He’s homophobic and scared out of his mind, given 30 days to live.
The movie is about taking treatment into his own hands (this is a little over the top but is based on a mostly true story) by obtaining drugs not legally available in the United States. These he shares with his fellow sufferers (for money!) and does a turnaround, gradually becoming full of compassion and understanding.
McConaughey and Jared Leto who plays a flamboyant cross-dresser both do stunning turns as actors.
