The NY Times Book Review for today has a listing of the best illustrated children’s books along with a bit of artwork from each. The titles along with the illustrators/authors are as follows:

Shackleton’s journey by illustrator William Grill, which oddly enough I could not find in the system
The Promise by Nicola Davies, an urban story about a poor girl stealing an old’s woman’s bag
The Baby Tree by Sophie Blackall, where a young boy attempts to find out where babies come from
Haiti My Country: Poems by Haitian schoolchildren by Roge, again, no system copies
Here is the Baby by Taeeun Yoo, no copies in RCLS
Harlem Hellfighters by Gary Kelley, about African-American army soldiers who fought in World War l
Time for Bed, Fred! by Yasmeen Ismail, about a child trying to get a dog to fall asleep
Where’s Mommy? by Barbara McClintock, about a friendship between a mouse and a young girl
The Pilot and the Little Prince: the life of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, a biography by Peter Sis, which we own.
Draw! by Raul Colon, which is a beautiful wordless story about a boy with asthma who uses his imagination to travel in his mind while drawing wonderful pictures of the animals of the world. We own this title as well.
