In a recent ranking issued by Scholastic Parent & Child magazine, 60 year-old “Charlotte’s Web” was named the No. 1 book. A team of literary experts and “mom bloggers” nominated nearly 500 titles. The editors at the magazine made the final selections. The list included a variety of different types of children’s books for kids from infants to middle school. Literary merit and popularity were the major criteria for selections. No. 2 and 3 on the list were also oldies but goodies–“Good Night Moon” and “Wrinkle in Time.”
I posted the entire list on the bulletin board in the Children’s Room.
