by Randy Susan Meyers. Taking me a long time to get through this not long book. It a little slow moving. Maddie and Ben are married with 3 children. He is portrayed as an abusive, angry husband but not really extreme enough so I ended up thinking, “Well, he isn’t that bad.” Ben is driving one day with Maddie in the car and as his temper reaches a tipping point, he starts driving angrily, erratically, angry at another driver/car on the road. An accident ensues and Maddie is left in a coma. When she awakes she is not herself. Ben is conciliatory, but too mushy, not really believable as the husband bearing the guilt of causing his wife’s injuries. Or maybe my reality has been so much harsher that the story just doesn’t pass muster? Have 30 pages left so still reading to find out if Maddie stays with him after she discovers the truth about how the accident happened.
