Norman Bridwell the author of the Clifford the Big Red Dog series died on Martha’s Vineyard on Tuesday. He was 86. He lived for many years in a house on the Vineyard with a big red door. Beginning in 1963, he wrote and illustrated more than 40 Clifford books beginning with “Clifford, the Big Red Dog.”
We have more than 20 titles in the Clifford series. “Clifford Gets a Job” was added to our collection in 1993 and has gone out more than 69 times. The Clifford books continue to be very popular. Bridwell’s publisher, Scholastic, indicated that Mr. Bridwell had finished two more Clifford books which will be published in the spring of 2015.
