Lately, any movie with Emily Blunt in the cast is a must see for me. “Your Sister’s Sister” is no exception. I won’t spoil the movie for any future viewers by discussing the plot, but the story isn’t what you initially think it is going to be like.
This is a basically a three character story–two sisters and a friend of one of the sisters. Emily Blunt, Rosemary DeWitt and Mark Duplass are terrific. It almost seems as if they really are the people they are portraying. The viewer seems to be witnessing a real story that is unfolding. Set in Washington state, in a remote cabin on a lake, the scenery, especially the biking sequences, really set the scene for this film.
After a slow, somber beginning, the comedic aspects of the plot play out. Comedy and drama are successfully woven together in a well-written screenplay by three very talented actors.
