The story of a family spanning 20 years in a small town in upstate New York. Kasey and Kyle grow up on the same street in Potsdam, NY. As teenagers, they draw closer and fall in love, marry and have a child. The story begins 20 years later when Kyle has moved out west to Washington state. He receives a call that his father is ill and he should return home to take care of him. From this point, the story unravels backwards as we learn how Casey and Kyle fell in love and the events that drew them apart. I have been to Potsdam, NY and liked the descriptions of the familiar town. The story draws you in to the lives of the characters as you learn how tragedy and loss separated them.
