Sophie Kinsella’s latest offering is as zany as her usual novels. I really enjoy her stories, they never fail to make me laugh. This novel gets a little silly at times, but is grounded in true romance. Lottie is so sure that her boyfriend Richard is going to propose that she bought him a ring. Unfortunately his important question at dinner involved using his air miles for a trip, not a wedding. Lottie is devastated, but moves on quickly when she gets a call out of the blue from an old boyfriend Ben. Things moves quickly and they decide to tie the knot. Lottie’s sister, Fliss, is a divorced mom of a a little boy and a travel editor. When she finds out that Lottie and Ben are suddenly planning to get married, she freaks out and jumps on a plane to Greece to stop them from marrying on a romantic Greek island. Fliss enlists a helpful hotel concierge to keep the couple out of their bedroom, since she has a plan to have the marriage annulled as long as the union is not consumated. The shenanigans get out of control, but the slapstick humor is designed to keep your mind from focusing on any serious matters. For a bit of zany humor, check this out.
