I’m in the middle of three good books.

The Blazing World by Siri Hustveldt is about a woman artist, Harriet Burden, who has been dismissed by the art world.  She decides on an experiment and over the course of five years she produces three series of works attributed to male artists. Do these become famous in the art world?  We’ll see.

No Way Back by Matthew Klein is a character study of a reformed drugging, gambling alcoholic who is put in charge of turning around a software company that is about to go bankrupt. It’s his last chance to convince his wife and sponsor that he is salvageable, as well as the company. I’m hoping he makes it.

I Can’t Complain by Elinor Lipman. This is a collection of essays she has written over about 25 years that cover her personal and professional life. What can I say? I’m a sucker for EL.
