This book was another very good one, but very complicated. It begins with a 10 year old being taken by his bookseller father to the Cemetery of Forgotten Books. Daniel’s mother has died and he is beginning to forget her. The book he chooses, Shadow of the Wind, is by an unknown writer, but he becomes obsessed with it. It tells of a love story between two young people and their families. When a little older, he wants to find out about the book’s author. Thus begins a mystery within a mystery. When he finds people who knew the author, they sometimes lie or deliberately confuse Daniel. When clues turn up he tries to piece together what happened to the author. The action slips back and forth between the two lives of the author and Daniel as he seeks the truth.
