Abigail Wolff is a journalist in Washington D.C. when she receives an uncensored document of testimony from a recent court case involving the death of a U.S. soldier in Iraq. When Abigail begins researching the events, it appears as if the Army was trying to cover up the facts of exactly how serviceman Zach Armstrong died. And when her father, a retired Army general, instructs her to drop her research, she stubbornly ignores him, positive he is hiding something, and her trust in him as “one of the good guys” is broken. Abigail meets Zach’s brother Gabe and finds herself falling in love with him. But when Abigail puts all the pieces of the puzzle together, both she and Gabe are devastated by what she finds. A dramatic read, but satisfying as well.
