The plot centers around the lives of three women who are facing major emotional problems. All three women barely know each other, but an event that occurred many years before, now will affect their lives.
Rachel’s teenage daughter was murdered thirty years ago, and the killer has not been caught. Rachel is sure she knows who the killer is and continues to try to establish his guilt. Connor is the man Rachel is sure murdered her daughter. He now is involved with Tess, who has left her husband because he has fallen in love with someone else. The third woman in this triangle is Cecilia, who it seems has a perfect life–three great daughters and a loving husband.
The story is much better than what sounds like a very trite plot. Author Liane Moriarty writes well and does get the reader hooked into this story. I felt her ending fit the plot, especially the Epilogue that revealed so many secrets about our lives that we will never know.
