‘Tis the season for patrons to be asking for books on giving thanks. Three children’s titles come to mind: a new title just released, Giving Thanks: Poems, Prayers, and Praise Songs of Thanksgiving written by veteran author Katherine Paterson and illustrated by cut-paper artist Pamela Dalton. Two older worthy titles include In November by Cynthia Rylant & illustrator Jill Kastner, and Giving Thanks: A Native American Good Morning Message by author Jake Swamp and illustrator Erwin Printup, both of which we own.
For our older patrons, we have a title by one of my favorite authors, Anne Lamott: Help, thanks, wow : the three essential prayers.
