Students in the South Orangetown School District are urged by teachers and librarians to continue to read during the summer. Suggested reading lists are posted on the district’s web site. Links to these lists can also be found on our library’s home page.
This year school librarians urged students to go to their home libraries and pick up their summer reading logs there. After reading books of their choice, young readers add book titles to their logs, which they will then bring back to school in September.
“Every Hero Has a Story” is the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Club. There is still time for students to pick up their reading logs and participate in the Reading Club activities. Urge your young readers to keep on reading, and update their logs when they come into the library.
Don’t forget we also have a selection of Playaway readers with accompanying books and books on CD to keep readers engaged during long car rides.
