The actor, Alan Cumming, tells a nasty tale of physical and mental abuse as a child at the hands of his father. He seems to have had quite a good life since he was able to leave home. Loves his work and does a lot of it.
He was invited to appear on a celebrity genealogy show which stirred up a number of memories. And lies. His father claimed not to be his father and his mother wanted to know what had happened to her father, who had left home at 35, never to return. The conclusion is: his father was his father and was mentally ill, and his grandfather, after a career in the army, joined the Malaysian police force and killed himself playing Russian roulette. Never a dull moment and Cumming claims to have used it all to his acting advantage.
