I have read about this new genre or target audience of books emerging called “New Adults.” Part of the reason the ‘Hunger Games,’ ‘Twilight ,’ and ‘Harry Potter’ was/is so popular is credited, “they say,” to this new group of New Adults. The demographic is 20-26 year-olds, although the age varies.  New York Magazine last month explained that this group was not interested in reading Danielle Steele or Sandra Brown, and instead were looking to read about “adolescent characters, only with real-world settings and slightly more adult insight and adult situations.”  They named Union Street as a new-adult series coming out in 2013. I also saw references to this genre back in 2009 so maybe it isn’t that new.  Does this mean we will need to create another section of the library? NA
