Recently, the National Book Foundation announced its nominees for the National Book Awards’ nonfiction prize. Among the books selected for this prestigious award were Ta-Nehisi Coates for his book “Between the World and Me,” the photographer Sally Mann for “Hold Still” A Memoir With Photographs,” and Tracy K. Smith for “Ordinary Light: A Memoir.” Earlier, the Foundation announced the nominees for young people’s literature and poetry. Among those nominated in this category were Ali Benjamin for her young adult novel “The Thing About Jellyfish.”
