I stumbled across PW’s best books list of 2011 today, and discovered a mystery series by one of the authors on the list, Nicola Upson. Her main protagonist is a sleuth by the name of Josephine Tey, which immediately piqued my interest, since Tey was one of the better mystery writers of the 20th century recommended to me when I first began working here. (Although she is not as well known as Dorothy Sayers or P.D. James). I think I read The Daughter of Time, a novel about Richard lll and enjoyed it. (Thinking back, I don’t recall who it was that suggested reading Tey, maybe Beatrice?) Anyway, I’m starting with Upson’s 2nd book, Angel With Two Faces, and will let you know how it is … If you interested, here’s a brief article to check out…
