Bridget Stratton is looking forward to spending the summer at her country house in Connecticut with her boyfriend, Sterling. She is also anxious to meet the new violinist joining her musical trio. (Bridget is a cellist, and her good friend Will is a pianist). But best laid plans often go astray: she finds herself instead sharing the house with her two grown children, Isabel and Oscar. Ms. Poeppel has written a clever novel about family relationships, love and new beginnings. It is heavy on characterization, so you do need to keep juggling quite a few names in mind. I did find it very entertaining, and the author ties it all together very neatly at the end.
