Fans of PBS Masterpiece are, of course, looking forward to the third seasons of “Downton Abbey.” Also being planned is a fourth season with a Christmas special. We probably won’t see that in the US until late 2013.
I guess with the popularity of this British series, the producers at Masterpiece were searching for another possible blockbuster hit. It was announced recently that J.K. Rowling’s new book “Casual Vacancy” will be made into a multi-part series for this program. Although the book got mixed reviews, perhaps PBS can transform it into a major TV hit.
