This documentary made in 2014, gives the viewer a picture of the world Iris inhabits.  At the time of the filming, Iris was 94 years of age; her husband, Carl, was 100, and the director Alfred Maysles was 89.  But this is definitely not a film about people who are in their dotage.

Iris’ flair for design and her immense collection of clothing, jewelry, and home design pieces have been the subject of exhibits in major art galleries and museums.  Her iconic glasses have graced her face in numerous magazine and newspaper articles.

This well-done documentary is both fun and inspiring.  The film shines especially when Iris articulates her opinion on fashion, aging, and experiencing joy from everything around her.
