A cross between a picture book for children and a story with multiple layers of meaning for adults, Into the Uncut Grass explores the themes of pushing boundaries, freedom and choices. Similar to the The Boy, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy, in this short tale a young boy is leaving home for the greater outdoors, along with his faithful companion, his teddy bear, Walter. Along the way they meet a garden gnome, and some snails and learn the values of perspective and compromise. It’s a thoughtful read with wonderful illustrations by Sabina Hahn.
