I love to look through lists of upcoming books to see what’s coming. Lee Child fans can looking forward to another Jack Reacher. The Army gets Reacher’s help, yet again, in “Personal” after there is an attempted assassination of the French president. In addition to Child, perennial best-selling authors Bill O’Reilly, John Grisham, Jodi Picoult, and Michael Connelly all have books that will be released shortly.
O’Reilly and co-author Martin Dugard have written “Killing Patton: The Strange Death of World War II’s Most Audacious General.” The title tells it all. John Grisham’s “Gray Mountain” pits a female lawyer in a small Virginia town fighting against Big Coal. Jodi Picoult’s “Leaving Time” is about a teenage girl searching for her mother. Michael Connelly is back with Detective Harry Bosch and a new partner investigating a cold case in “The Burning Room.
For lovers of Hercule Poirot, William Morrow will publish “The Monogram Murders.” This is the first time Agatha Christie’s estate has authorized a new novel featuring Poirot. This mystery takes place at a upscale London hotel.
Just a small sample of what’s available this fall.
