I avoided this series for the longest time, thinking I wouldn’t be interested, but after reading the first title, Crazy Rich Asians, I’m hooked. This is book 2, and the author expands on the romance between Rachel Chu and Nick Young. All the usual family suspects have returned, along with their gobs of money, with the addition of a new family: the Baos. The action jumps from the families in Singapore to Hong Kong, to California and the wedding of Nick and Rachel. Nick’s mom Eleanor crashes the party early in the day, but she does have a good reason: she’s sure that she has found Rachel’s real dad. Rachel and Nick journey to Shanghai to meet her new family, but the trip gets off to a rocky start. This is a great novel to escape into the world of the richer than rich billionaires of Asia and their first world problems…
