RCLS has some very good resources for children’s librarians and preschool teachers that may be utilized. For anyone who works with children, one of the newer titles in the collection is Transforming Preschool Storytime: A Modern Vision and a Year of Programs by Betsy Diamant-Cohen. The manual is comprehensive, beginning with suggestions on how to organize a storytime, and also contains 8 different themes, each of which can be used for a six week series of programming. The chapters include fingerplays, stories, songs, developmental tips, flannelboard patterns, bibliographies of related books which would also fit the theme, games, suggested handouts for parents, and craft ideas.
