For fans of Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne character, the new film “The Bourne Legacy” follows in the mood and action of the trilogy that precedes it. This is not based on any the Bourne books; the director wrote the story and the screenplay.
You do need to know the background story involving Treadstone and its mission and what happened to Bourne in the last movie. This helps the viewer understand what happens to the main character played very well by Jeremy Renner. Once the movie gets going, it is a bit confusing in the beginning, the action is non-stop and, of course, the groundwork is laid for yet another sequel.
