I watched this IMAX documentary over the weekend. It’s short, only about 40 min., but very interesting. It explains how 2 women have adopted orphan animals and care for them until they can be released back into the wild, on nature preserves. One woman lives in Borneo and has adopted orphan orangutans, while another “fairy godmother” lives in Kenya, and cares for orphan elephants. She explains how the elephants are traumatized by seeing their mothers killed by poachers and resist attempts by her gamekeepers to capture them. If not rescued, they will die from not getting proper nourishment. It really is moving to see these 2 fairy godmothers in action,  caring for the animals until they are able to be released back “into the wild.”
