By accepting an offer to restore an old mural, Morgan Christopher is handed a “get out of jail free card” by Lisa Williams, the daughter of a famous artist. Lisa’s father, Jesse Jamesom Williams, left a stipulation in his will that Morgan restore the mural. Despite having no knowledge of art restoration, Morgan agrees, especially since she was wrongfully accused of the crime for which she was serving time. She begins to research the original artist of the mural, Anna Dale, and is intrigued when she finds that Anna knew Lisa’s father, Jesse Williams. The novel swings back and forth from present day to the 1940’s, when Anna began to paint the mural. Big Lies is based on a true story, which you can read more about in an article here. I found this to be a fascinating read and highly recommend it.
