I seem to keep reading books by Laura Lippman, thinking she is Elinor Lipman who wrote a funny book that I read years ago and loved called “And then she found me.” (The main character was a librarian which added to my enjoyment, I’m sure.)
Anyhow Laura Lippman’s book wasn’t bad – it’s about a high-end madame and how she got there and how she got out without getting done in. Some unsavory characters and a plot that requires a bit of a stretch but I’d rate it a fair escape read. Meanwhile, I’ll see if Elinor Lipman has anything new.
