With the new Paddington movie now in theaters, I was curious to see what titles we owned. “Paddington Here and Now” and ‘Paddington at Large” are the only two. The third cover above is the Junior novelization edition based on the movie. The first Paddington book was released in 1958 and Michael Bond has written 15 since. I was/am a big Paddington bear fan. The movie is ok (maybe a 5/6 out of 10?), but strays distantly from the original story and has some dark (terrifying and scary) scenes involving an evil taxidermist (played by Nicole Kidman) who wants Paddington as her next subject. As I am not a big fan of the new movie. It’s okay, not fabulous. I am also not a big fan of the junior novelization and do not recommend purchasing it. Stick to the original. The author is 88 years-old and plans on releasing a new Paddington tale soon.
