Recently I read the Aurora Teagarden series by Charlaine Harris (the author of the Sookie Stackhouse books). I was interested in reading the books because the main character is a librarian. The series starts out with a book called Real Murders, which is the name of the club that Aurora belongs to that discusses real murder cases until, unfortunately, members of their club start dying by ghastly recreated famous murders.  I think I read up to the sixth book in the series, but I cared less and less for the character as time went on. Aurora Teagarden is, well, whiny. She appears put out by being a librarian early in the series and as soon as she comes into some money, she quits the library. After she gets married later in the series and she tires of being a stay at home wife, she starts working part-time for the library again, but she still doesn’t seem to necessary like her job. The character has devolved in my opinion and I found myself really disliking her in the last book (A Fool and His Honey) because of her whiny ruminations, so I think I’ll put the series to rest and not read anymore.
