James Patterson has written a very engaging autobiography with short chapters and witty chapter titles. He grew up in Newburgh, NY and worked in advertising for J.Walter Thompson in NYC before becoming a writer. He won an Edgar award with his first mystery novel, The Thomas Berryman Number, and found himself beside Robert Parker during photos. He admitted that he had read every novel by Parker and found himself “a little weak in the knees” standing next to him. Patterson writes as if he’s having a conversation with his reader, and his bio was most enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it…
